Port Macquarie is a major centre for medical, dental and hospital facilities, servicing a population of 80,000 people. The Base Hospital is an acute hospital offering a wide variety of services. There is also a well known private hospital and a day surgery clinic plus all the usual and allied health services available in a large city.
