There are also public schools in Hill End, Trunkey Creek, Meadow Flat, Rockley, Wattle Flat, Rockley and Sofala. There are campuses of both the Charles Sturt University and Western Institute of TAFE.
Bathurst offers a wide variety of services at the Base Hospital which include emergency, acute care, surgery, maternity etc. There is also a private hospital which provides a full range of surgical and medical services. With two large hospitals, naturally there are numerous specialists, GP medical centres and the full range of allied health services to maintain care for both in patient requirements and the public. There are numerous aged care facilities in the region.
